Upton residents have raised concerns about unauthorised traveller encampments and increased fly tipping near St Crispin Drive, close to the Greek Orthodox Church of St Neophytos. The former road, now owned by Upton Parish Council, was once the driveway to St Crispin Hospital and is often called “the Old Kent Road” or “The Drive.” We hope that residents can enjoy walking, running and cycling along this lovely tree-lined route. There is no through route for vehicles. We have installed new signage and a new height restrictor to prevent unauthorised encampments and discourage fly tipping.
We hope these improvements will allow everyone to appreciate this lovely heritage site in a respectful and considerate manner.
