Upton Parish Council celebrated and commemorated the 80th anniversary of VE Day at two flag raising events, held simultaneously at both flagpole locations in the Parish.
At The Elgar Centre, the bespoke VE Day 80 flag was raised by Councillor Matthew Kinton at 0900hrs preceded by the proclamation, which was read by Councillor Alan Bottwood. Councillor Michael Warnes was also in attendance.
At St Crispin Community Centre, the VE Day 80 flag was raised by Councillor Bill Haylock and the proclamation was read by former Councillor Colin Hull. Councillor Andrew Holt and Councillor Peter Kershaw were also in attendance.
