Upton Parish Council marked the official armistice on 11th November with a small ceremony at the tree sculpture of the WW1 solider which now serves as the parishes war memorial. Following a suggestion from a local councillor, the Council recently installed two new flagpoles in the Parish at St Crispins Community Centre and the Elgar Centre from which the Council will fly the Union Flag (as well as other flags when appropriate).

The Parish Council have installed two new memorial benches to commemorate and the life and service of Cllr Shaun Pape who sadly died last year. Cllr Pape had served on Upton Parish Council for very many years and is sadly missed.
